Drake Hogestyn was born on September 29, 1961, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His parents are John and Dolores Hogestyn. He has two brothers, Mark and Todd. He graduated from Snider High School in Fort Wayne in 1979. He then attended Indiana University, where he studied acting and directing. He graduated from IU in 1983 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Drake’s first acting role was in the soap opera “Days of Our Lives” in 1986. He played the role of John Black on the show from 1986 to 1992. He then left the show and took a break from acting. He returned to acting in 1997 when he was cast as Dr. Mark Weston on the soap opera “Sunset Beach”. He played that role until the show ended in 1999.

In 2000, Drake began playing the role of Roman Brady on the soap opera “Days of Our Lives” again. He has played that role for over 20 years. He has won several awards for his work on the show, including a Daytime Emmy Award in 2009.
