Early Life

Devin Smith was born on February 15, 1993, in Massillon, Ohio. He is the son of Lisa Smith and David Smith. He has two older sisters, Ashley and Brittany. Devin attended Massillon Washington High School, where he played football and ran track. He was a four-star recruit by Rivals.com, and was ranked as the No. 18 wide receiver in the nation.

College career

Smith played college football at Ohio State from 2011 to 2014. He was a two-time All-Big Ten selection, and was named the Big Ten Conference Wide Receiver of the Year in 2014. Smith finished his career with 121 receptions for 2,503 yards and 33 touchdowns.

New York Jets

Smith was drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft with the 37th overall pick. He was placed on injured reserve on December 12, 2015, after suffering a torn ACL in Week 14. He was released by the Jets on March 7, 2018.
