Derren Litten is a British comedian, actor, writer and producer. He is best known for creating, writing and starring in the ITV2 sitcom Benidorm.
Litten was born in 1974 in Birmingham, England. His parents divorced when he was young and he was raised by his mother. He has two older sisters.
Litten was educated at King Edward VI Grammar School in Stratford-upon-Avon and then at the University of Warwick, where he studied English and drama.
After university, Litten worked as a stand-up comedian and as a writer on several TV shows, including The 11 O’Clock Show and Smack the Pony. In 2007, he created, wrote and starred in the ITV2 sitcom Benidorm, which ran for nine series until 2018.
Litten has also appeared in a number of other TV shows, including The Catherine Tate Show, Extras and Not Going Out. He has also written for several newspapers and magazines, including The Guardian and The Observer.

Litten’s net worth is estimated to be around £3 million. He has been married twice; first to actress Sarah Alexander from 2001 to 2004, and then to make-up artist Louise Ford from 2009 to 2016. He has two children from his second marriage.
