David A. Siegel (born May 3, 1941) is an American businessman and entrepreneur. He is the founder, chairman and CEO of Westgate Resorts, one of the largest privately held timeshare companies in the world. Siegel has been credited with revolutionizing the timeshare industry, and is considered one of the most successful businessmen in the United States.
Siegel was born in Chicago, Illinois, to a Jewish family. His father was a successful businessman, and his mother was a homemaker. Siegel has two brothers and one sister. He was educated at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics.
Siegel began his career in the mail-order business, selling products through magazine ads. He later moved into the timeshare industry, and in 1982, he founded Westgate Resorts.
