Daryl Hannah is an American actress and environmental activist. She made her film debut in Brian De Palma’s horror film The Fury (1978). She subsequently appeared in a number of his films, including Dressed to Kill (1980), Blow Out (1981), and Body Double (1984). Hannah’s other film credits include Splash (1984), Roxanne (1987), Wall Street (1987), Steel Magnolias (1989), and Grumpy Old Men (1993). She has also appeared in television series such as Mad Men and Revenge.
Hannah was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 3, 1960, the daughter of Susan Jeanne (Metzger), a producer and former model, and Donald Christian Hannah, a businessman. Her parents divorced when she was three, and she was raised by her mother in Long Grove, Illinois. Hannah has two brothers, Don and Peter.
Hannah was a cheerleader in high school, and also played softball. She was voted homecoming queen during her senior year. Hannah attended the University of Southern California, where she studied acting. She dropped out after one semester to pursue her acting career.
