Dyer was born in Canning Town, London, on 24 July 1977, the son of Antony and Christine Dyer. He has two sisters, Kerry and Joanne. Dyer’s father left the family when he was just two years old, and he was brought up by his mother and grandmother.
Dyer began his career appearing in small roles in films such as Human Traffic and The Football Factory. He rose to prominence in 2004 when he was cast as Mick Carter in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. Dyer has since appeared in a number of films and television shows, including the horror film The Descent and the crime drama The Business.
Dyer has been in a relationship with Joanne Mas since 2014. The couple have three children together: Dani, Sunnie, and Artie.
