Campbell Scott is an American actor, director, producer, and voice artist. He is best known for his roles in the films The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and the TV series Royal Pains and Damages.
Scott was born on October 19, 1961 in New York City, New York, USA. His father, George C. Scott, was a stage and film actor, and his mother, Colleen Dewhurst, was a Canadian-born actress. His parents divorced when he was two years old. He has two older siblings: Alexander Scott and Victoria Scott.
Scott was educated at The Putney School and graduated from Yale University in 1984 with a degree in English.
Scott began his acting career in the early 1990s with roles in the films Dying Young (1991) and Singles (1992). He has since appeared in numerous films and television shows. Some of his most notable roles include Peter Parker / Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), Matt Murdock / Daredevil in The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005), and Hank Lawson in Royal Pains (2009-2016).
Scott has been married twice. His first marriage was to Anne Scott from 1990 to 1995. They have one child together, a son named Jack Scott. His second marriage is to Karen Scott, with whom he has two children: Lily Scott and Owen Scott.
