Anthony King (born October 27, 1957) is an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his role as Andy on the CBS sitcom The King of Queens (1998-2007).
King was born in New York City, the son of Doris, a homemaker, and Joseph King, a postal worker. He has two sisters, Diane and Donna. King was raised in the Bronx. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School, where he played on the basketball team. After graduation, he studied acting at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
King’s first acting role was in the play The Sunshine Boys (1975). He made his film debut in the comedy film Animal House (1978). He has since appeared in numerous films and television shows. Some of his notable roles include Andy on The King of Queens, Doug on Roseanne, and Eddie on Seinfeld.
King has been married twice. His first wife was actress Amy Yasbeck, with whom he has two children. His second wife is actress Laurie Metcalf. They have one child together.
