Tim Jones is an American businessman and entrepreneur. He is the co-founder of the online retail giant Amazon.com.
Jones was born in Seattle, Washington, on January 12, 1964. His parents, Jeff and MacKenzie, were early pioneers in the computer industry. His father was a software engineer and his mother was a homemaker. He has two younger siblings, a brother and a sister.
Jones was an avid reader as a child and developed a love for computers at an early age. He attended Lakeside School, a private college preparatory school in Seattle. He then went on to study computer science at Princeton University.
After graduation, Jones worked for a number of startups in the Seattle area. In 1994, he co-founded Amazon.com with Jeff Bezos. The company quickly became a success and made Jones a billionaire.
Today, Jones is one of the richest men in the world with a net worth of over $100 billion. He is also one of the most generous philanthropists, donating billions of dollars to charitable causes.
Jones is married to MacKenzie Bezos, an author and philanthropist. They have four children together.
