Kym Marsh is an English actress, singer, television presenter, and model. She is known for her roles as Michelle Connor in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street and as Sam Mitchell in the BBC soap opera EastEnders.

Marsh was born on 13 June 1976 in Whiston, Merseyside, England. She is the daughter of Pauline and Keith Marsh. She has two sisters, Tracy and Nicola. Marsh attended Knowsley Community College.

Marsh began her career as a singer in the band Hear’Say, which was created through the ITV reality show Popstars in 2001. The band had several UK chart hits before splitting up in 2002.

Marsh began her acting career in 2006, when she joined the cast of Coronation Street as Michelle Connor. She has since appeared in a number of television shows and films, including Waterloo Road, Casualty, and The Bill.

Marsh has been married twice. Her first marriage was to Jack Ryder, with whom she has a daughter, Polly. Her second marriage is to Jamie Lomas, with whom she has a son, Archie.
