Cameron Arthur Mathison was born on August 25, 1969, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, to parents Elaine and Ronald Mathison. He has two sisters, Andrea and Allison. Mathison was raised in Sarnia and attended high school at St. Clair Secondary School. After graduation, he attended the University of Toronto and majored in broadcast journalism.

Mathison’s first job in television was as a reporter for CFTO in Toronto. He later moved to Los Angeles and worked as a correspondent for “Entertainment Tonight” from 1995 to 2002. In 2002, he began appearing as a regular on the daytime soap opera “All My Children” as Ryan Lavery. He remained on the show until its cancellation in 2011.
Since leaving “All My Children,” Mathison has appeared on a number of other television shows, including “Drop Dead Diva,” “Castle” and “Hot in Cleveland.” He has also hosted the game show “The Price Is Right” and the reality competition series “I Wanna Be a Soap Star.”
Mathison has been married to Vanessa Arevalo since 2002. The couple has two children together, Lucas and Leila.
