Brent Barry (born December 31, 1971) is an American former professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1995 to 2010. A 6’6″ shooting guard/small forward, he had a successful college career with the UCLA Bruins, winning the NCAA Championship in 1995. He was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 1995 NBA draft, and also played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, and Phoenix Suns. He won two NBA championships with the Spurs, in 1999 and 2003.

Barry was born in Hempstead, New York. His father, Rick Barry, is a former NBA player who was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987. His mother, Pam (née Walker), is a former professional tennis player. He has three older brothers, Jon, Drew, and Scooter; and two younger sisters, Shannon and Jenny. Barry’s paternal grandfather, Maurice, was Jewish, and his paternal grandmother, Theresa, was Catholic.

Barry graduated from De La Salle High School in Concord, California, in 1989. He played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins from 1989 to 1995. He was a member of UCLA’s 1995 NCAA championship team. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA tournament’s West Region. He was also named to the All-Tournament team of the 1995 NCAA tournament.

Barry was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 1995 NBA draft with the 45th overall pick. He played for the Nuggets for two seasons from 1995 to 1997. He then signed with the Los Angeles Clippers as a free agent in 1997. He played for the Clippers for two seasons from 1997 to 1999.

In 1999, Barry signed with the Miami Heat as a free agent. He played for the Heat for one season from 1999 to 2000. He then signed with the San Antonio Spurs as a free agent in 2000. He played for the Spurs for nine seasons from 2000 to 2009. He won two NBA championships with the Spurs in 2003 and 2005.

In 2009, Barry signed with the Houston Rockets as a free agent. He played for the Rockets for one season from 2009 to 2010. He then signed with the Chicago Bulls as a free agent in 2010. He played for the Bulls for one season from 2010 to 2011. He then retired from professional basketball.

Barry’s net worth is estimated to be $20 million. He earned a salary of $4 million during his final season with the Bulls in 2010–11.

Barry is married to Erin Barry. They have three children together: twin sons born in 2005, and a daughter born in 2007.
