Topper Headon is a drummer best known for his work with The Clash. He was born in London, England on May 30, 1955. His father was a jazz musician and his mother was a singer. Headon began playing drums at the age of eight. He was a member of several bands in his teens, including the 101ers and the London SS.
He joined The Clash in 1977 and appeared on their debut album, The Clash (1977). He also played on the band’s second album, Give ‘Em Enough rope (1978) before leaving the group in 1982. Headon has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the UK Music Hall of Fame as a member of The Clash. He has also been nominated for Grammy Awards.
As a solo artist, Headon has released two albums, Waking Up (1984) and Drumming Is My Madness (1986). His net worth is estimated to be $5 million.
