The Everly Brothers were an American country-influenced rock and roll duo, known for steel-string acoustic guitar and close harmony singing. Consisting of brothers Don and Phil Everly, the duo was raised in a musical family in Brownie, Kentucky. They had their first hit with “Bye Bye Love” in 1957. The Everly Brothers had 19 Billboard Top 40 singles, including 11 that reached the top ten and two that reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. They are the Vocal Duo of the Century according to RIAA.

The Everly Brothers were born in Brownie, Kentucky, Don on February 1, 1937, and Phil two years later on January 19, 1939. Their parents, Ike and Margaret Everly, were both musicians. The brothers were raised in a musical family and were exposed to different genres of music from an early age. Their father was a country music singer and their mother was a gospel singer. The Everly Brothers began singing together when they were young children and by the time they were teenagers, they were performing on local radio stations.

The Everly Brothers’ career began in 1956 when they signed with Cadence Records. Their first single, “Bye Bye Love”, was a huge success, reaching the top of the Billboard charts. The Everly Brothers quickly became one of the most popular rock and roll duos of the 1950s and 1960s. They had a string of hits including “Wake Up Little Susie”, “All I Have to Do Is Dream”, and “Cathy’s Clown”. The Everly Brothers’ success continued into the 1970s with the release of several more albums.

The Everly Brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. They were also inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2003.

The Everly Brothers’ net worth is estimated to be $15 million.

1observation, 1986, on his career with brother Phil] We never followed trends. We did what we liked and followed our instincts. Rock'n'roll did survive, and we were right about that. Country did survive, and we were right about that. You can mix the two but people said we couldn't.
