Perron was educated at Christian Brothers College, Perth. He left school at the age of 15 to work in his father’s fruit and vegetable business. He later worked as a salesman for a motor vehicle dealership.
In 1955, Perron bought a service station in North Perth. He later expanded his business interests into property development and mining.
Perron’s business career has been marked by a series of successful investments and developments. He was an early investor in Western Australia’s mining industry, and was involved in the development of the North West Shelf gas project. He has also been successful in property development, hospitality and healthcare.
Perron is a generous philanthropist, and has donated millions of dollars to charitable causes. He is a major donor to the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, and has also supported education, the arts and medical research.
Perron is married to Margaret, and they have four children. His son, Peter, is the managing director of the Perron Group.
