Shane Kippel is a Canadian actor, best known for his role as Spinner Mason on the hit television series Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Born in Mississauga, Ontario, on October 7, 1986, Kippel is the middle child of three boys. His father is a police officer and his mother is a homemaker. Kippel began acting at the age of 10, when he was cast in a local production of The Wizard of Oz. He went on to appear in several other stage productions before landing his breakout role on Degrassi: The Next Generation in 2001.
Kippel appeared in all 14 seasons of Degrassi: The Next Generation, until the show ended its run in 2015. He also had a recurring role on the spin-off series Degrassi: Next Class.
Outside of acting, Kippel is an avid musician. He plays both the guitar and drums and has released several songs through his YouTube channel.
Kippel has been in a relationship with Canadian actress Shenae Grimes-Beech since 2008. The couple has one daughter together, born in 2013.
