Rosey Grier is an American actor, singer, and former professional football player. He was born on July 14, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, to John and Mabel Grier. He has four siblings: John, Mabel, James, and Dorothy. Grier was a standout athlete at an early age and excelled in both football and track & field. He attended Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, where he was a two-time All-City selection in football.
After graduation, he attended Pennsylvania State University on a football scholarship. Grier was drafted by the New York Giants in the 1955 NFL Draft. He played for the Giants from 1955-1962, winning a championship with the team in 1956. After his playing career ended, Grier transitioned into acting.
He appeared in several films and television shows, including The Dirty Dozen (1967), Planet of the Apes (1968), and The Six Million Dollar Man (1974). Grier has been married twice and has four children. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California. ..
