Pierre Julien (born February 28, 1971) is a French former professional ice hockey defenceman. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators.
Julien was born in Saint-Georges, Quebec. He played junior hockey for the Trois-Rivières Draveurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He was drafted in the second round, 40th overall, by the Flames in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft.
Julien made his NHL debut with the Flames during the 1991–92 season. He played four seasons in Calgary, winning a Stanley Cup with the team in 1989. He was traded to the Avalanche in 1995 and played three seasons in Colorado. He signed with the Blackhawks as a free agent in 1998 and played one season in Chicago. He was traded to the Predators in 1999 and played two seasons in Nashville. He retired from professional hockey after the 2001–02 season.
Julien appeared in 551 career NHL games, scoring 20 goals and adding 109 assists. He also appeared in 34 career Stanley Cup playoff games, scoring one goal and adding eight assists.
Julien currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife and two children.
