Paul Blackthorne is an English actor, musician, and director who is best known for his roles as Captain Quentin Lance on The CW series Arrow, Lestat de Lioncourt on The CW series The Originals, and as Harry Dresden on The Dresden Files. He was born on August 5, 1969 in Shropshire, England, UK. His parents are Hazel (née Martin) and Neville Blackthorne. He has two sisters, Nicola and Catherine. Blackthorne was educated at Manchester Grammar School. He began his career as a musician, playing in various rock bands.

He later turned to acting, appearing in various television shows and films. Blackthorne’s breakout role came in 2002 when he was cast as Harry Dresden in The Dresden Files. The show ran for one season and was cancelled after low ratings. Blackthorne has since appeared in a number of films and television shows, including 24, Lost, and CSI: Miami. He currently stars as Captain Quentin Lance on The CW series Arrow.

Blackthorne is married to Megan West. They have two children together.
