Pat Hill (born December 17, 1951) is an American football coach. He was the head coach of the Fresno State Bulldogs from 1997 to 2011. Hill led the Bulldogs to eleven bowl games, including six consecutive appearances from 2004 to 2009. His teams also won six conference championships, including five in a row from 2005 to 2009.

Hill was born in San Francisco, California. He attended San Francisco State University, where he played football and baseball. Hill began his coaching career at his alma mater, San Francisco State, in 1976. He then coached at the University of the Pacific (1977-78), Weber State University (1979-80), and Boise State University (1981-85).

In 1986, Hill was hired as the offensive coordinator at the University of California, Berkeley. He helped lead the Golden Bears to the Rose Bowl in 1991. Hill then returned to Boise State as the head coach in 1992. He led the Broncos to four bowl games in five seasons.

In 1997, Hill was hired as the head coach at Fresno State. He led the Bulldogs to eleven bowl games, including six consecutive appearances from 2004 to 2009. His teams also won six conference championships, including five in a row from 2005 to 2009.

Hill’s teams at Fresno State were known for their aggressive style of play. The Bulldogs often employed a “spread” offense, which was designed to create mismatches and exploit weaknesses in the defense.
