Miriam Shor (born July 25, 1971) is an American actress, singer and dancer. She is best known for her role as Hedwig Schmidt on the HBO series “Sex and the City” (1998-2004) and for her role as Jane Spencer on the FX series “The Americans” (2013-2018).
Shor was born in New York City, the daughter of a Jewish family. Her parents were both born in Israel. She has two sisters, Ruth and Sarah. Shor was raised in the Bronx and attended the High School of Performing Arts. She later studied acting at the Juilliard School.
Shor made her film debut in the independent film “Safe” (1995). She has also appeared in the films “The First Wives Club” (1996), “George of the Jungle” (1997), “Drop Dead Gorgeous” (1999), “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” (2001) and “The Wedding Planner” (2001).
On television, Shor has had recurring roles on the NBC series “ER” (1997-1998) and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (1999-2000). She has also appeared on the ABC series “Once and Again” (1999-2002) and “Grey’s Anatomy” (2005).
In 2018, Shor starred in the film “I Feel Pretty”, alongside Amy Schumer and Michelle Williams.
Shor has been married to actor Paul Adelstein since 2002. They have two daughters, Lily and Josephine.

Most notable role, Yitzhak in the Broadway production "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" was presented to her on a tiny slip of paper by agent in 1998. It said, "A man to be played by a woman. Surly, Jewish, Croatian. Ex-drag queen billed as Krystall Nacht, the Last Jewess of the Balkans."
