Michael McCary is an American singer and songwriter. He is best known as a member of the R&B group Boyz II Men. McCary was born on December 16, 1971, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His parents are Michael and Shirley McCary. He has two sisters, Michele and Sharon. McCary attended the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts. He was a member of the school’s choir.
McCary’s career began when he met Nathan Morris and Wanya Morris while they were all attending the High School for the Creative and Performing Arts. The three young men formed a singing group called Boyz II Men. The group became one of the most successful R&B groups of all time. They released their debut album, “Cooleyhighharmony,” in 1991. The album was a huge success, selling more than nine million copies in the United States. Boyz II Men went on to release several more successful albums, including “II” (1994), “Evolution” (1997), and “Nathan Michael Shawn Wanya” (2000).
McCary left Boyz II Men in 2003 due to health issues. He has since pursued a solo career. McCary’s net worth is estimated to be $40 million.
