Melody Thomas Scott (born Melody Ann Thomas on April 18, 1956 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress best known for her role as Nikki Newman on The Young and the Restless.
The daughter of Harry and Dorothy Thomas, Melody was born and raised in Los Angeles. She has two older sisters, Tracy and Jennifer. She attended high school at Notre Dame Academy in Los Angeles.
After high school, Thomas Scott began her acting career with a role on the soap opera Days of Our Lives in 1978. She played the role of Eve Donovan on the show from 1978 to 1981. She also had roles on the television shows The Waltons and Fantasy Island before landing her role on The Young and the Restless in 1982.
Thomas Scott has been playing the role of Nikki Newman on The Young and the Restless for over 35 years. She is one of the original cast members of the show and has been nominated for several Daytime Emmy Awards for her work on the show.
In addition to her work on television, Thomas Scott has also appeared in a number of films. She had a small role in the film Airplane II: The Sequel in 1982 and also appeared in the films The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! in 1988 and The Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult in 1994.
Thomas Scott has been married to actor Edward Scott since 1985. The couple has two daughters, Alexandra and Elizabeth.
In 2019, Thomas Scott was inducted into the Soap Opera Hall of Fame.
