Born in Miami, Florida, Milian is of Cuban descent. She attended the University of Miami, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications. After graduation, she worked as a Spanish-language interpreter for the Dade County Court system. She later became a certified court interpreter and worked as a freelance interpreter for both English and Spanish-speaking clients.
In 2001, Milian was approached by producers of The People’s Court about becoming a judge on the show. She accepted the offer and has been presiding over the show ever since. In addition to her work on The People’s Court, Milian has also appeared as a guest on various other television shows, including The View and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
