Marceline Day (born October 24, 1908) was an American actress. She appeared in over 120 films between 1927 and 1952.
Day was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Day. She had two brothers, Harry and Robert. Her father was a film distributor.
Day attended the Hollywood School for Girls and graduated from there in 1926. She then attended the University of Southern California.
Day’s film career began in 1927, when she appeared in the film The Silent Enemy. She went on to appear in a number of films, including The Girl from Missouri (1934), The Three Musketeers (1935), The Awful Truth (1937), and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939).
In 1940, Day married actor Lew Ayres. The couple had two children, Christopher and Jennifer. They divorced in 1951.
Day’s later film roles include The Bad and the Beautiful (1952) and High Noon (1952). Her final film appearance was in the film The Turning Point (1952).
Day died on December 28, 2000, at the age of 92.
