Kerry Kennedy was born on September 8, 1959, in Boston, Massachusetts. Her father, Robert F. Kennedy, was a U.S. senator from New York and her mother, Ethel Kennedy, was a human rights activist. Kerry has seven siblings: David, Bobby, Michael, Courtney, Max, Rory and Douglas. She was educated at The Putney School in Vermont and graduated from Brown University in 1982.
Kerry began her career as a journalist, working for the TV station WNET in New York. She then became a lawyer and human rights activist. In 2002, she founded the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights. Kerry has also written several books, including “Being Catholic Now” (2008) and “Speak Truth to Power” (2012).
Kerry has been married three times. Her first husband was Michael Kennedy, with whom she had three children: Max, Grace and Conor.
