Josh Duhamel is an American actor and former fashion model. He is best known for his role as Optimus Prime in the Transformers film series (2007–present), as well as his leading roles in the romantic comedies Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! (2004) and When in Rome (2010). Duhamel has also starred in the action-horror film Turistas (2006), the science fiction drama film The Black Hole (2009), and the romantic drama Safe Haven (2013).

Born in Minot, North Dakota, Duhamel is the son of Bonnie L. (née Kemper) and Larry Duhamel, both educators. He was raised Catholic and attended Minot State University. He later married Stacy Ann Ferguson, better known as Fergie, with whom he has two children.
Duhamel began his acting career with small roles in the early 2000s. His first leading role was in the 2004 romantic comedy Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!, opposite Kate Bosworth. In 2006, he starred as one of the main characters in the action-horror film Turistas. The following year, Duhamel played Captain William Lennox in Transformers, which became his most commercially successful film to date. He reprised his role in its sequels Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) and Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011), both of which were box office successes.
In 2008, Duhamel starred in the science fiction drama The Black Hole. The following year, he starred in When in Rome with Kristen Bell. Duhamel next reprised his role as Lennox in Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014). In 2016, he starred in the romantic drama Safe Haven, based on the novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks.
Duhamel has also had several voice roles, including in the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) and the animated film Transformers: Prime (2010–2013). He has also appeared on several television shows, including Las Vegas (2003–2008), CSI: NY (2004–2005), and Battle Creek (2015).
