Joe Bonamassa is an American blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter. He started playing guitar at the age of four and has been touring professionally since he was 12. He has released 15 studio albums, three live albums and two compilations. His latest album, Different Shades of Blue, was released in 2014 and reached number one on the Billboard Blues chart. Bonamassa has won multiple Grammy Awards and has been nominated for several more. He has also been nominated for three Brit Awards.

Bonamassa was born on May 8, 1977 in New Hartford, New York. His parents were both music teachers. His father, Joe Bonamassa Sr., was also a professional guitarist. Bonamassa has two sisters, Jessica and Julie. He began playing guitar at the age of four and gave his first public performance at the age of seven. Bonamassa was inspired by British blues rock guitarist Eric Clapton and American blues rock guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan. He received his first electric guitar, a Gibson Les Paul, when he was eight years old.

Bonamassa began his professional career as a member of the band Bloodline, which also featured Robby Krieger of The Doors and Miles Davis’ son, Erin Davis. The band released one self-titled album in 1994 before disbanding. Bonamassa then embarked on a solo career. His debut album, A New Day Yesterday, was released in 2000. The album reached number one on the Billboard Blues chart and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.

Bonamassa’s second album, So, It’s Like That, was released in 2002. The album reached number two on the Billboard Blues chart and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. In 2005, Bonamassa released his third album, You & Me. The album reached number one on the Billboard Blues chart and won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.

In 2008, Bonamassa released his fourth album, Sloe Gin. The album reached number one on the Billboard Blues chart and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. In 2010, Bonamassa released his fifth album, Black Rock. The album reached number one on the Billboard Blues chart and won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.

In 2013, Bonamassa released his sixth album, An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House. The album won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. In 2014, Bonamassa released his seventh album, Different Shades of Blue. The album reached number one on the Billboard Blues chart.

Bonamassa has toured with some of the biggest names in music, including B.B. King, Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy and Steve Winwood. He has also performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including the Royal Albert Hall in London and Madison Square Garden in New York City. Bonamassa currently resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife and two children.
