Jacqueline McKenzie is an Australian actress. She was born on the 24th of October, 1967, in Sydney, Australia. Her parents are both of English descent. She has two older sisters. She was educated at the prestigious St. Catherine’s School in Waverley, New South Wales.
After completing her schooling, she attended the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney. After graduating from NIDA, she worked extensively in theatre and television in Australia. In 1995, she made her film debut in the film “The Piano”. The film was a critical and commercial success and McKenzie’s performance earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She has since starred in numerous films, including “Romper Stomper” (1992), “The Last Days of Chez Nous” (1992), “Deep Blue Sea” (1999), “Moulin Rouge!” (2001), “The Great Gatsby” (2013) and “Hacksaw Ridge” (2016).
In addition to her work in film, McKenzie has also appeared in several television series, including “SeaChange” (1998-2000), “The 4400” (2004-2007) and “Rectify” (2013-2016). She is currently starring in the television series “Wanted” (2016-present). McKenzie has been married to actor Joel Edgerton since 1995. They have two children together. ..
