Gaby Hoffmann is an American actress, writer, and director. She is known for her roles in the films Sleepless in Seattle, Now and Then, and Field of Dreams. She has also appeared in the television series Girls, Transparent, and Louie.
Hoffmann was born in New York City, New York, on January 8, 1982. Her parents are Anthony Perkins and Berry Berenson. She has two sisters, Marisa and Allegra. Hoffmann was raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended the Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences.
Hoffmann began her acting career in the early 1990s. She made her film debut in the 1992 film Sleepless in Seattle. She also appeared in the films Now and Then (1995), Field of Dreams (1996), and The Myth of Fingerprints (1997).
In the 2000s, Hoffmann appeared in the films You Can Count on Me (2000), The Laramie Project (2002), and Garden State (2004). She also had a recurring role in the television series Girls.
Since 2014, Hoffmann has starred in the Amazon Prime Video series Transparent. She has also directed two episodes of the show. In 2017, she appeared in the film A Bad Moms Christmas.
Hoffmann has been nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards for her work on Transparent.

As a child after leaving the Chelsea Hotel, Gabby, her mother and their two Eskimo dogs moved into a two-bedroom rental house in Woodland Hills,which had been damaged in the January 1994 earthquake).
