Her career began in 1993 with the release of her debut album, Take Me as I Am. Since then, she has released eight studio albums, four of which have been certified platinum or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). She has also had a number of hit singles, including “This Kiss”, “Breathe”, “The Way You Love Me”, and “Mississippi Girl”. In addition to her success as a recording artist, Hill has also enjoyed a successful career as an actress, appearing in the films The Stepford Wives and Soul Surfer.
Born in Ridgeland, Mississippi, on September 21, 1967, Faith Hill is the daughter of Ted and Edna Perryman. She has two older sisters, Zachary and Stephanie. Her father worked as a banker and her mother was a schoolteacher. Hill began singing in church at an early age and later performed in school talent shows. After graduating from high school in 1985, she attended Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi, where she studied cosmetology.
In 1987, Hill moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in pursuit of a career in country music. She was soon discovered by music producer Scott Hendricks, who helped her land a recording contract with Warner Bros. Records. Her debut album, Take Me as I Am, was released in 1993 and quickly became a success, selling more than three million copies in the United States. The album’s lead single, “Wild One”, became Hill’s first number-one hit on the Billboard country charts.

The album’s title track became a number-one hit on the country charts, while the album’s second single, “Someone Else’s Dream”, peaked at number two.
In 1998, Hill released her third album, Faith. The album was another commercial success, selling more than four million copies in the United States. The album’s lead single, “This Kiss”, became Hill’s second number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
