Born in Brooklyn, New York, Sandy Martin began her career as a child actress, appearing in commercials and on television shows such as The Equalizer and Miami Vice. She made her film debut in the 1988 film A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master.
Martin’s breakout role came in 1997, when she was cast as Rosie on the HBO series Oz. She appeared in all six seasons of the show, until it ended in 2003.
In 1999, Martin began appearing as Janice Soprano, the sister of Tony Soprano, on the HBO series The Sopranos. She appeared in a total of 46 episodes over the show’s six-season run.
Since the end of The Sopranos, Martin has had roles in the films Brooklyn Rules (2007), Righteous Kill (2008), and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010). She has also guest-starred on television shows such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Blue Bloods.
