Buckley was born in Los Angeles, California, on October 5, 1963. His parents are Norman and Barbara Buckley. He has two sisters, Lisa and Amy. Buckley attended Loyola Marymount University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in film and television production.
Buckley began his career working as an assistant editor on the television series The O.C. He later became a director and editor on the series Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl.
