Nicky Henson is an English actor who has appeared in many stage, film and television roles. He was born in London on December 16, 1945, the son of actors Cyril Henson and Aileen Raymond. Henson has two older sisters, Gillian and Jane. He was educated at Latymer Upper School and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
Henson’s first professional role was in the 1968 film The Charge of the Light Brigade. He has since appeared in numerous films, including The Elephant Man (1980), The French Lieutenant’s Woman (1981), The Wicked Lady (1983), The Bounty (1984), The Missionary (1986), The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne (1987), Batman (1989), The Remains of the Day (1993), and The English Patient (1996). He has also appeared in such television series as The Avengers (1968-69), The Professionals (1977-81), Rumpole of the Bailey (1978-79), Minder (1979-84), Inspector Morse (1987-88), and Foyle’s War (2002-15).
Henson has been married three times: first to actress Jane Asher from 1968 to 1981, with whom he has two sons, Patrick and Thomas; then to actress Annette Crosbie from 1984 to 1999; and finally to actress Susan Penhaligon from 2002 to present. He has three grandchildren.
Henson is 5′ 10″ (1.78 m) tall and has blue eyes.
