Lisa Nicole Carson (born July 12, 1970) is an American actress. She is known for her roles as Dr. Evelyn Johnson on the NBC medical drama ER and as Deena Jones on the Fox musical drama Fame.
Carson was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in the Queens borough of New York City. She is the daughter of Loretta, a homemaker, and James Carson, a postal worker. She has two older sisters, Tracy and Kimberly. Carson attended the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan.
Carson’s career began in 1987 with a small role in the film Leonard Part 6. She made her television debut in 1988 with a guest appearance on the NBC sitcom A Different World. In 1989, she was cast as Deena Jones on the Fox musical drama Fame. She appeared in the show’s first two seasons before leaving to pursue other projects.

Carson has been married twice. Her first marriage was to actor Christopher Williams from 1992 to 1995. Her second marriage was to actor Mekhi Phifer from 1999 to 2005. She has two children from her second marriage, a son named Mekhi and a daughter named Imani.
Carson currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
