Jennifer Bassey is an American actress. She was born on October 9, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York, USA. Her parents were of Irish and Italian descent. She has four brothers and sisters. She attended Catholic schools growing up. After high school, she studied acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting in New York City.

Bassey began her acting career in the early 1960s. She made her television debut in an episode of the soap opera The Edge of Night in 1964. She went on to appear in episodes of such popular television shows as The Fugitive, The Virginian, and Gunsmoke. In 1967, she made her film debut in the comedy A Guide for the Married Man.
Over the next few years, Bassey appeared in a number of films and television shows. Some of her more notable roles were in the films The Out-of-Towners (1970), The Sting (1973), and Airport 1975 (1974). In 1975, she began appearing as Maggie Horton on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. She played the role for over 20 years.
In recent years, Bassey has appeared in episodes of such television shows as Castle, Hot in Cleveland, and The Young and the Restless. She has also appeared in the films The Bucket List (2007) and Get Hard (2015).
Bassey has been married three times. Her first husband was actor Robert Clary. They were married from 1966 to 1968. Her second husband was actor James Stacy. They were married from 1968 to 1974. Her third husband is actor Michael Forest. They have been married since 1975. Bassey has two children from her first marriage and one child from her second marriage.
