She has four siblings: Antonio Carlos Pires Filho, Maria do Carmo Pires, Paulo César Pires, and Pedro Pires. She attended the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, where she studied acting.

The soap was a blockbuster and Glória won an important award for most promising actress of the year.
