FactAmerican character actress, from the stage (Broadway from 1911) and vaudeville. Best known on screen as one of the "pixilated" Faulkner sisters, in Frank Capra's classic comedy Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936). Otherwise often cast in matriarchal roles or as domestics.

Frederick Seddon (1858-1912) was an English serial killer who was convicted of murdering 12 people, although it is believed that he may have killed as many as 20. He was born in London, the son of a butcher, and had a difficult childhood. He was expelled from school at the age of 14 and began working as a butcher’s apprentice. He later moved to Manchester, where he worked as a hotel porter. It was here that he began his career as a murderer, killing his first victim, a maid, in 1891. He later moved to Yorkshire, where he killed 11 more people, mostly women. He was finally caught in 1912 after murdering a woman in London. He was sentenced to death and hanged at Wandsworth Prison.
