Freddy Rodriguez is an American actor known for his roles in the television series Six Feet Under and Ugly Betty. He was born on January 17, 1975 in Chicago, Illinois to Puerto Rican parents. His father was a janitor and his mother was a housewife. He has two older sisters. He was raised in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago. He attended elementary school at St. Augustine Catholic School and high school at Roberto Clemente Community Academy. He began acting in high school and appeared in community theater productions.
He also played basketball and ran track. After high school, he studied acting at the Goodman School of Drama at DePaul University. He began his professional acting career in the late 1990s, appearing in various television shows and movies. In 2001, he was cast as Federico Diaz in the HBO series Six Feet Under. He played the role for five seasons. In 2006, he began starring as Hector Fernandez-Lopez in the ABC series Ugly Betty. He appeared in the show for four seasons.
He has also appeared in the films Planet Terror, Grindhouse, The Taking of Pelham 123, and The Purge: Anarchy. In 2016, he starred in the film Lowriders. He has been married to Eliza Roberts since 2002. They have two children together.
