Bellamy was born in Newark, New Jersey, on April 7, 1965. His parents were both African-American. He has two sisters. Bellamy was raised in East Orange, New Jersey. He attended Seton Hall Preparatory School, a Catholic high school in West Orange, New Jersey. He then went on to study economics at Rutgers University.
Bellamy began his career as a stand-up comedian in the late 1980s. He soon began appearing on television shows such as “Def Comedy Jam” and “It’s Showtime at the Apollo”. In 1997, he starred in the film “Def Jam’s How to Be a Player”. The film was a commercial success and helped to launch Bellamy’s film career.
In 2001, Bellamy starred in the film “The Brothers”. The film was a critical and commercial success. Bellamy’s performance in the film earned him praise from critics.
Bellamy has also appeared in a number of television shows. In 2009, he had a recurring role on the television series “Lipstick Jungle”. In 2010, he appeared on the television series “CSI: Miami”.
