Beverly D’Angelo is an American actress and singer, best known for her roles in the National Lampoon’s Vacation films, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. She has also appeared in such films as Hair, Coal Miner’s Daughter, and Casino.
D’Angelo was born in Columbus, Ohio, on November 15, 1951, the daughter of Priscilla Ruth (née Smith), a violinist and concertmaster, and Eugene Constantino “Gene” D’Angelo, a bass player. She has three brothers: Jeff, Tim, and Tony. She is of Italian and Swedish descent. D’Angelo attended Upper Arlington High School in Upper Arlington, Ohio.
D’Angelo began her career in the early 1970s with a role in the film Hair (1979). She went on to star in a number of films throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including Coal Miner’s Daughter (1980), National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983), and Casino (1995). She received a Golden Globe nomination for her role in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989).
D’Angelo has been married twice: first to Italian actor and director Lorenzo Lamas from 1981 to 1993, with whom she has two daughters, Alexandra and Antonia; and secondly to actor Antonio Banderas from 1996 to 2005. She has no children with Banderas.
D’Angelo is 5’7″ (1.70 m) tall and has blonde hair and blue eyes.
