Ben Alexander (born 9 July 1986) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a prop for the Parramatta Eels in the National Rugby League.
Born in Sydney, New South Wales, Alexander played his junior rugby league for the Waverley Oakleigh Panthers before being signed by the Parramatta Eels. He played for the Eels’ NYC team in 2004 and 2005 before being promoted to the club’s NRL squad in 2006.
Alexander made his NRL debut in Round 1 of the 2006 NRL season against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks. He played in 19 games for the Eels in his debut season as the club finished last on the table with just four wins.
In 2007, Alexander played in all of the Eels’ 24 games as the club improved to finish 12th on the ladder. He was a member of the Eels’ side that lost to the Melbourne Storm in the 2007 NRL grand final.
Alexander played in all of Parramatta’s 28 games in 2008 as the club finished third on the ladder and qualified for the finals. The Eels were eliminated in the first week of the finals series by the Brisbane Broncos.
Alexander was selected to represent New South Wales in the 2009 State of Origin series and played in all three games as the Blues lost 2-1 to Queensland.
In 2010, Alexander played in 21 games for Parramatta as the club finished sixth on the ladder and qualified for the finals. The Eels were eliminated in the first week of the finals series by the Newcastle Knights.
In 2011, Alexander played in 23 games for Parramatta as the club finished ninth on the ladder and missed out on the finals.
In 2012, Alexander played in all of Parramatta’s 24 games as the club finished fifth on the ladder and qualified for the finals. The Eels were eliminated in the first week of the finals series by the Brisbane Broncos.
In 2013, Alexander played in 21 games for Parramatta as the club finished seventh on the ladder and qualified for the finals. The Eels were eliminated in the first week of the finals series by the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles.
