Denise Richards is an American actress and former fashion model. She has appeared in numerous films and television series, including Starship Troopers, Wild Things, The World Is Not Enough, Valentine, Drop Dead Gorgeous, and Spin City. She also starred in the E! reality television series Denise Richards: It’s Complicated from 2008 to 2010, which documented her life as a single mother.

Richards was born in Downers Grove, Illinois, the daughter of Joni Lee, who owned a coffee shop, and Irv Richards, a telephone engineer. She has two sisters, Michelle and Nicole. Richards grew up in the Chicago suburb of Mokena. As a child, she was the “only girl on the baseball team.”

Richards attended El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills, California. She later attended UCLA, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Richards dropped out after one year to pursue a career in modeling.

Richards began her career as a fashion model, appearing in magazines such as Teen Vogue and Cosmopolitan. She made her film debut in 1987 with a small role in the film Down and Out in Beverly Hills. In the early 1990s, Richards appeared in several films, including Starship Troopers (1997), Wild Things (1998), and The World Is Not Enough (1999). She also appeared in the television series Married with Children (1987) and Seinfeld (1991).

In 2006, Richards starred in the reality television series Denise Richards: It’s Complicated, which documented her life as a single mother. The show ran for two seasons on the E! network.

Richards has been married three times. Her first marriage was to Charlie Sheen from 2002 to 2006. The couple has two daughters: Sam (born 2004) and Lola (born 2005). Richards’ second marriage was to Richie Sambora from 2006 to 2007. Richards’ third marriage is to Aaron Phypers, whom she married in 2018.
