Cheryl Ladd is an American actress, singer and author. She is best known for her role as Kris Munroe in the television series Charlie’s Angels.

Ladd was born on July 12, 1951 in Huron, South Dakota, the daughter of Dolores (née Ruzicka), a waitress, and Marion Strom, a railroad engineer. She has two sisters, Dana and Lori. Ladd is of Czech, Danish, English, German, Irish, and Scottish descent.
Ladd was raised in the Roman Catholic faith. She graduated from high school in 1968. She attended college at the University of Southern California, where she studied acting.
Ladd’s acting career began in 1970 when she appeared in an episode of the television series The Dating Game. She went on to guest-star in several other television series, including Hawaii Five-O, The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, Starsky & Hutch, and Family.
In 1976, Ladd landed the role of Kris Munroe in the television series Charlie’s Angels. She remained with the show until 1981. During her time on Charlie’s Angels, Ladd released her debut album, Cheryl Ladd, in 1978. The album peaked at #33 on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned the hit single “Think It Over”.
After Charlie’s Angels ended, Ladd starred in several made-for-television movies and guest-starred on television series such as Magnum, P.I., The Love Boat, and Fantasy Island. In 1982, she starred in the film version of Annie.
In 1986, Ladd returned to television with a starring role in the sitcom One More Chance. The show was cancelled after one season.
In 1988, Ladd starred in the television movie Satan’s School for Girls. The following year, she co-starred with Lee Majors in the made-for-television movie The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw.
In 1990, Ladd starred in the television series Sisters. The show was cancelled after two seasons.

In 1995, Ladd starred in the made-for-television movie Poison Ivy II: Lily. The following year, she co-starred with Tim Matheson in the made-for-television movie A Friend’s Betrayal.
In 1997, Ladd starred in the made-for-television movie She Cried No. The following year, she co-starred with Jack Wagner in the made-for-television movie A Matter of Justice.

In 2006, Ladd starred in the made-for-television movie An American Girl on the Home Front. The following year, she co-starred with Dean Cain in the made-for-television movie Living Proof.
