Bob Sura (born March 11, 1973) is an American former professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for eleven seasons.
Sura was born in Canton, Ohio, the son of Barbara and Robert Sura Sr. He has two older sisters, Lisa and Lori. His father was of Polish descent and his mother is of Italian ancestry. Sura was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton McKinley High School in 1991. He played college basketball at Florida State University from 1991 to 1995.
Sura was drafted in the first round of the 1995 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 30th overall pick. He played for the Cavaliers for two seasons before being traded to the Atlanta Hawks in 1997. He also played for the Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors, Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic. He retired from the NBA in 2006.
Sura’s best season came in 2003-04 with the Houston Rockets, when he averaged 15.4 points, 5.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 1996 and won an NBA championship with the Pistons in 2004.
