Ann Morgan Guilbert (born July 26, 1928) is an American actress and comedian. She is best known for her role as Millie Helper on The Dick Van Dyke Show, and as Yetta Rosenberg on The Nanny.
Guilbert was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Bernice (née Morgan) and Henry Guilbert, a businessman. She was raised in Los Angeles, California. She has two sisters, Beverly and Barbara.
Guilbert began her career as a model, appearing in magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. She made her television debut in 1953, appearing on an episode of The Loretta Young Show. She went on to guest star on numerous television shows throughout the 1950s and 1960s, including The Twilight Zone, The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, The Beverly Hillbillies, Bewitched, and I Dream of Jeannie.
In 1961, Guilbert was cast as Millie Helper, the neighbor and best friend of Laura Petrie (played by Mary Tyler Moore) on The Dick Van Dyke Show. She appeared in all 158 episodes of the series, which ran for five seasons.
In 1993, Guilbert began appearing as Yetta Rosenberg, the grandmother of Fran Fine (played by Fran Drescher), on The Nanny. She appeared in all 146 episodes of the series, which ran for six seasons.
Guilbert has been married three times. Her first husband was actor Paul Gilbert, with whom she had two children: Lucie Arnaz (born 1951) and Desi Arnaz Jr. (born 1953). Her second husband was actor Richard Schaal, with whom she had two children: Stephanie (born 1961) and Wendy Schaal (born 1963).
