Tony Tarantino is an American actor, director, and producer. He is the founder of the production company Tarantino Films, and is best known for his work on the films Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Django Unchained.
Tarantino was born on March 27, 1963, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Connie McHugh, a nurse, and Tony Tarantino, an actor and musician. He has an older brother, Patrick, and a younger sister, Lisa. Tarantino was raised in Los Angeles, California.
He attended Narbonne High School, where he was a student of acting teacher Robert Carnegie. Tarantino’s first film role was an uncredited part in the 1984 film The Karate Kid. He also had roles in the films My Best Friend’s Birthday (1987) and True Romance (1993).
In 1992, Tarantino wrote and directed the film Reservoir Dogs, which was a critical and commercial success. His next film, Pulp Fiction (1994), was also a critical and commercial success. Tarantino’s other films include Jackie Brown (1997), Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003), Kill Bill: Volume 2 (2004), Inglourious Basterds (2009), Django Unchained (2012), and The Hateful Eight (2015).
Tarantino has won two Academy Awards, for Best Original Screenplay for Pulp Fiction and Best Supporting Actor for Django Unchained. He has also been nominated for three Golden Globe Awards, winning Best Screenplay for Pulp Fiction.
Tarantino is married to actress Daniella Pick. They have a son, Leo, born in 2009.
