Thai Lee is a Korean-American businesswoman. She is the co-founder and CEO of SHI International Corp., one of the largest IT solution providers in the United States.
Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea, in 1961. Her family moved to the United States when she was three years old. They settled in New Jersey, where her father worked as a chemical engineer and her mother as a schoolteacher.
Lee graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in electrical engineering. She began her career as a sales engineer at AT&T Bell Laboratories. In 1985, she left AT&T to co-found SHI International Corp. with her husband, Sanjay Shah.
SHI International Corp. is a leading provider of IT solutions and services. The company has more than 12,000 employees and operates in over 30 countries. SHI has been named one of the “100 Best Places to Work in IT” by Computerworld magazine for 11 consecutive years.
Lee is a member of the Rutgers University Board of Trustees and the Korean American Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
