Tchéky Karyo is a French actor and musician. He was born on October 14, 1953, in Istanbul, Turkey, to a French mother and a Turkish father. His family moved to France when he was two years old. Karyo began his acting career in the 1970s, appearing in several French films and television series. He first gained international attention for his role in the 1984 film, The Return of Martin Guerre. Karyo has since appeared in a number of Hollywood films, including The Patriot (2000), Bad Boys II (2003), and Taken (2008). He is also known for his role as Julien Baptiste in the BBC television series, The Missing (2014-2016). Karyo is married to French actress, Cécile Cassel. They have two children together.
