Early Life

Rosanna Scotto was born on March 18, 1958 in Brooklyn, New York. Her parents are Joseph and Marie Scotto. She has two brothers, Anthony and Joseph Jr. Scotto attended Fontbonne Hall Academy in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. She then went on to study at St. John’s University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications arts.

Career

Scotto began her career in 1980 as a reporter for WPIX-TV in New York City. She then moved to WCBS-TV in 1982, where she served as a weekend anchor and reporter. In 1984, she joined WABC-TV as a weekday morning co-anchor. She remained at WABC until 1988, when she joined Fox 5 NY WNYW as a weekday morning co-anchor. She has been with Fox 5 ever since.

Scotto has won several awards during her career, including three Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award. In addition, she has been inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Silver Circle and the Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
